Since the 'stargate window' around Sept. '03 is an 'echo window' of '9/11' (2001), we have the masterpiece film/book, 2001: A Space Odyssey, as potentially being part of the echo. The same window is also considered a 'Mars window' due to its historic close encounter with Earth on Aug. 27 this year. And orbiting Mars at the present time is none other than NASA's Odyssey spacecraft (launched in 2001) named after the aforementioned movie.

The mystery that drives the story of '2001' is the black 'monolith', first discovered by man on the Moon. The lighting in the scene is so decidedly red, however, that we are subtly guided to associate the site with Mars rather than the Moon. (See picture.) This interpretation is certainly encouraged by the existence of Odyssey orbiting Mars. In any case the monolith discovery prompts a space mission to Jupiter (an attempt to make 'first contact'), which takes place - as clearly indicated in the film - 18 months later.

This has had a direct 'echo'. The start of the Iraq war came 18 months after the biggest '2001' event - 9/11. And as discussed in my Endgame articles Iraq represents the 'land of Mars' in many ways. Correspondingly, March 20 - the beginning of the war - coincided with the spring equinox, which is a 'Mars/war day'. I wrote this just before the war on March 18:

The Great Sphinx at Giza is a representation of Mars (as can be inferred from the tradition of ancient Egypt) as well as Horus who in turn personifies the rising sun. And because the Sphinx faces due east, it becomes perfectly aligned with its celestial counterpart - the rising sun - on the equinoxes, when the sun rises due east. As per the Sphinx-Mars equation, then, the equinoxes are also to be considered important Mars days. March 20, '03... is therefore... a fitting date to be incorporated into the US war on terrorism...; indeed, as Mars is traditionally the planet/god of war, March 20 is in effect a 'war day'.

As explained in Endgame IV, Iraq/Babylon can also be considered a 'stargate land' (the name 'Babylon' denotes 'gate of the god', for example). And this too echoes the movie 2001 in that its ending sequence involves 'Bowman' making contact with a 'monolith' floating near Jupiter, which, functioning as a sort of 'stargate', takes Bowman into another 'dimension' where he becomes the first 'Star Child'.

But what about the 'stargate window' active right now? We are now only a day away from the autumn equinox (Sept. 23), which is another 'Mars/war day' for obvious reasons. And the pattern tells us that is should yield some compatible '2001 echoes'.

Amazingly enough, we are indeed seeing just such 'echoes' emerging at this time.

First, just today or yesterday (9/21 or 9/22, depending on where you were) there was a big event involving Jupiter, the place of the movie's monolith-stargate. For some reason, NASA happened to pick this day immediately preceding the second 'equinox/Mars/stargate day' of 2003 to deliberately crash the Galileo spacecraft into the giant gaseous planet. (Note: Sept. 11 + 11 = 9/22.)

The symbolism of this NASA 'ritual' is very thick. For one thing, it relates not only to 2001: A Space Odyssey but also to its sequel 2010: The Year We Make Contact (or 'Odyssey Two') in which Jupiter, with the help of the monolith, becomes a sun - called Lucifer. And in real life it just happened that the Galileo probe, named after the renowned astronomer Galileo Galilei famous for correctly pointing out that the planets revolve around the sun (i.e. heliocentric view), was carrying some plutonium. And because of this there was a lot of buzz on the Internet regarding the possibility of the plutonium initiating a nuclear reaction and turning Jupiter into - yes - the second sun of the solar system.

(The involvement of nuclear material here is fitting in that nukes have been closely associated with the 'stargate window' [see the Endgame series]. The storyline of the book/film 2010 even involves the Earth being on the brink of nuclear war.)

What's more, the 'second sun' is a theme I had already attached to 9/11. (See The Message of Cycle 23.) In conjunction with Nostradamus' infamous Quatrain X-72 (i.e. the '1999'/'king of terror' prophecy), I pointed out that the 'Sirian' Quatrain II-42 mentioning the appearance of 'two suns' was likely pertinent to the 2-year cycle pattern which is behind all the 'echo' effects. (Two years, after all, is analogous to 'two suns', or two solar revolutions.)

Quatrain II - 41 
The great star will burn for seven days,
The cloud will make two suns appear:
The large mastiff will howl all night
When the great pontiff changes his abode.

Notice Line 4 of II-41 referring to changing of the papacy. This meshes well with our 'Babylon leader falling' theme attached to the 'stargate window'. As discussed before, the 'Babylon leader' also corresponds to people like Bush, Blair, and Sharon.

And it should be noted that St. Malachy's prophetic list of popes from centuries ago calls the current pope, John Paul II, 'De Labore Solis' ('From the Labor of the Sun'), thus conforming to the 'sun' theme. (The Latin motto can also denote 'Of the Eclipse of the Sun', which cannot be more fitting since John Paul II was indeed born during an eclipse.)

Now, it is certainly an ominous sign for the Roman Church that the sun-related Galileo spacecraft carrying plutonium ('Pluto' signifying death) was thrown into Jupiter (= Zeus), the chief god of the Romans. But perhaps this symbolism is more applicable to the 'American pope' (see The Two Suns), George W. Bush who was identified in Endgame V as a form of Pha�thon, the son of the sun-god Helios, who was out of control and struck down by the thunderbolt of... Jupiter/Zues. And Phaethon is even a Promethean figure comparable to Lucifer (thus also the ignited Jupiter in 2010).

The coincidences just keep on mounting. On the 'Mars/stargate/2001' day that is the autumn equinox (Sept. 23), Bush is scheduled to address the United Nations and ask for international help on Iraq - making official the administration's decision to shift its war policy. This will be the second geopolitical 'stargate/monolith event' - the first being the beginning of the Iraq war on the spring equinox, '18 months' after Sept. 2001.  And this event will take inside the 'monolith'.

Yes - just look at the pictures below: the monolith from 2001 on the left, and the UN headquarters building (in NYC) on the right. I don't know about you, but I'd say the resemblance is uncanny...

Bush changing his approach to Iraq is undoubtedly a important event. And his going to the UN strongly signals the end of the neoconservative war plan, championed by arrogant and corrupt people like Cheney, Rumself, and Wolfowitz. Those neo-cons' dream of creating a 'Pax Americana' empire is now seemingly coming to an end.

'Pax Americana' means 'American peace'. And here is what I wrote in Endgame IV:

...the world-changing events of 9/11 were preceded by the fiery descent of the Russian space station Mir in March. 'Mir' means 'peace', as well as 'world'. The decommissioning of Mir thus symbolically signaled the 'end of world peace' - which was of course dramatically actualized later in the same year.

While Mir was 'world peace', Columbia [the space shuttle that crashed in a similar fashion in early 2003] would stand for 'American peace', after all Columbia is another name for the United States.

And further in Endgame V:

Amazingly, 'American peace' is exactly what is meant by 'Pax Americana' - the US global domination envisioned by the neo-conservatives... The invasion of Iraq was the first major step toward achieving the Pax Americana. So the symbolic implication of the space-shuttle omen would be that the Bush administration's global ambition will lead to a major disaster [just as the fall of Mir was followed months later by the disaster of 9/11]. This... is likely relevant to the coming 'stargate window'.

Indeed, we are presently witnessing the near-total collapse of the neoconservative war scheme, climaxing right now as Bush goes to the UN to more or less announce he's ditching the Pax Americana plan.

The key question now is: Will the neo-cons go out quietly or will they do whatever it takes to survive? And they are crazy enough to do just about anything... (Will they try preemptively 'dumping' Bush? Will they create another 9/11?)

Well, that's it for now. A lot of developments taking place, so stay tuned.

In the meantime, let me comment some more on the 'stargate window' situation. We're currently right in the middle of it and it is still the 'Total Recall' (election)/'Total Blackout' situation that represents the most interesting earthly development for the window. And my view continues to be that its underlying theme is the 'Rise of the Antichrist'.

While the 'Antichrist' was not a big subject in the Endgame series (I-V), it actually directly corresponds to the 'Osirian resurrection', i.e. the most prominent Endgame theme attached to the 'stargate window'. (See Endgame IV and V.)

First, Osiris/Horus is often compared to Jesus (a 'version' of Osiris). And as I noted in the Aug. 26 entry: "The 'Messiah' can be quite easily interpreted as the 'Antichrist', since the distinction can be quite blurry depending on the context." Because the resurrection of Osiris also traditionally entails the birth of his son Horus (considered a reincarnated Osiris), it was actually easy to infer that the 'stargate window' might have something to do with the birth of a 'messianic' figure - symbolically fulfilled by the 'rise of Shwarzenegger', the Terminator/Destroyer (a biblical epithet of the Antichrist).

As discussed before, the big announcement of Arnie (making public his decision to run for governor of California) on Aug. 6 could not be symbolically more meaningful. For one thing, Aug. 6 is the day of the Sirius heliacal rising (as seen from Giza) which for the ancient Egyptians signaled the coming Nile inundation and signified the birth of Horus.

And what made this year's celestial 'birth of Horus' event particularly special was the fact that the August of 2003 was the month of Mars, as Mars came closer to the earth than any other time in recorded history. Mars, to the ancient Egyptians, was also Horus (called 'Horus the Red')!

As if this weren't enough, there was an amazing celestial alignment on Aug. 23, just 4 days before Mars' closest approach to Earth, involving the Sun, Regulus, Jupiter, Venus, Earth, and Mars. It turns out that the Sun-Regulus conjunction - 'Regulus day' - was also traditionally considered to mark the birth of Horus. So with the grand extra planetary alignment, this year's 'Regulus day' in August was extra special. And it really was - as it did herald the 'birth' (or historic climax) of Mars, i.e. 'Horus the Red', just days later on August 27!

The message was clear: Horus, or a messianic figure, was born. And somehow - as strange as it sounds - it corresponds to the 'rise of Arnold Shwarzenegger'. And all the clues suggest that he is to be seen (at least symbolically) as an Antichristic figure, i.e. the figure called in the Book of Revelation the 'Destroyer' or Terminator (which Arnie is, via the movies by the same name). 'Coincidentally', Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines was playing in theaters this very summer.

What's more, another popular film Arnie did is Total Recall. Now, this association was actually the reason why I was already watching him closely even before he made the big announcement on Aug. 6. I mean, it was hard not to notice the link between the name 'Total Recall', the California recall election, and the timing involving Mars. And of course, Total Recall is a movie all about... Mars!

Next, here is something I've been meaning to mention (I had some conversations going on this subject behind the scenes). As many people know, in the early days Shwarzenegger was viewed as a new Sylvester Stallone (Rocky, Rambo, etc.). And we happen to find in one of Stallone's movies a curious reference to Arnie. This (pretty bad) film is called Demolition Man - which is obviously a variation on the Antichristic name 'Destroyer'/'Terminator'. So this is another corroborative clue.

But what's really intriguing here is the nature of the fictitious conversation in which Shwarzenegger is mentioned. One of the characters played Sandra Bullock tells Stallone (or his character) that Arnold had become a US president (the story takes place in the year 2026):

Stallone: "Hold it! The Schwarzenegger Library?"
Bullock: "Yes, the Schwarzenegger Presidential Library. Wasn't he an actor?"
Stallone: "Stop! He was President?"
Bullock: "Yes. Even though he was not born in this country, his popularity at the time caused the 61st Amendment�"

Oh, and the whole story of Demolition Man takes place in Los Angeles (i.e. California), which in the movie has become a police state ruled by a fascist ruler! I don't know about you but I find this pretty worrisome - especially given Arnie's Nazi connections and the fascist elite crowd backing him in the Total Recall election now underway in California.

Arnold's emerging 'acting' role as an Antichristic figure is also something hinted at by the planetary positioning of Mars (= Horus = 'Messiah') that brought the amazing close encounter in August. It was a configuration known as 'opposition', where Mars was 180 degrees away from the Sun as seen from Earth. So what we had was 'Mars opposition' - which then can be interpreted as 'Messiah opposition', or 'anti-Messiah', or... 'Antichrist'.

I'm not sure if it will succeed, but I'm quite certain that the NWO 'plan' is to get Arnie elected as governor of California, and the elite group will do its best (or worst) to make that happen. Should be interesting to watch.

And finally, let me point out that in the 'fifth revision' of the Total Recall screenplay I came across on the net (which I presume is geniune) is found a storyline quite different from that of the movie. In this earlier version, the main theme was actually something called the 'Sphinx Project' involving a Martian Sphinx. This is clear even from the opening scene:

ANOTHER ANGLE, and, in the distance, on the horizon of the arid landscape is a huge SPHINX-LIKE STRUCTURE. (It is reminiscent of the Egyptian sphinx, but both body and face, though gargoyle-like, are different in design.) There are some large pyramids not far from the sphinx. CAMERA MOVES optically FORWARD. DISSOLVE.

CAMERA is much closer to the sphinx and is directly in front. It moves (combination of zoom and optical printer move) towards the eyes, which appear to be red gems.

As CAMERA APPROACHES one of the eyes, it appears to be stained red glass, as in a temple. Suddenly there is a terrific explosion and the glass shatters into millions of fragments which hurtle toward the camera...

And here are some key conversations that reveal what the 'Sphinx Project' is all about:

QUAIL The Sphinx... it's not some useless artifact, it's a machine built by some alien race eighteen millions years ago. The same race that built the on one Earth... for the same purpose. [...]

QUAIL The machine in the Sphinx is tapped straight down to the molten core of this planet. There are tunnels and ducts everywhere, all powered by fusion generators... [...] To combine elements in the Martian core and release them as oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen.

BENNIE That's air!

QUAIL That's right. Air and water. Terraforming will create a permanent livable environment for Mars. [...] the same as Earth.

MELINA (baffled) So why is Cohaagen shipping everyone out?

QUAIL Don't you see?! From being a pile of red dirt with minerals, Mars is going to change into a chunk of priceless real estate.

MELINA And Cohaagen's going to own it all!

It's actually pretty clear that the story was originally meant to be about the mythical 'Hall of Records' often thought to be located under or near the Great Sphinx. Those who have read Endgame IV will recall that I talked quite a lot about the 'Hall of Records' (or 'Tomb of Osiris') in conjunction with Mars. I even suggested that the 'secret chamber' is actually under/near the 'Martian Sphinx' that is the 'Face on Mars'. Here is a direct quote from Endgame IV (May 19):

...in a transposed context, we may have already detected the first sign of the so-called 'Hall of Records'... under the Martian Sphinx!

And of course I had linked this to the 'stargate window' (summer/fall 2003), which turned out to be the time of the 'Total Recall' California election.

Let me also mention that I concluded my Mystery, Babylon the Great article posted back in 2001 (Oct. 25) with the following statement:

Mars is Osiris. And Osiris is being resurrected like a rising Morning Star. It is time for a Total Recall.

This was almost exactly two years ago, right after 9/11. And the 'stargate window' is the 'echo window' of 9/11...

Ah, so many echoes indeed...

Bush is in a fix. He's stuck in his Iraqmire. He did not prepare the country for a long drawn-out endeavor in Iraq, which keeps on claiming the lives of Americans. In fact, before the war, some Bush aides claimed that this would be a no-fuss occupation. Now Bush has little choice but to resort to the usual rah-rah about resolve. He points fingers at the international community and the Iraqis, failing, of course, to acknowledge his own miscalculations. And he's looking a tad desperate.

Bush's inability to acknowledge his own failure is nothing surprising. It's something we fully expect from this self-serving administration. But at least Bush is now, probably guided by Rove, moving away from the Pax Americana (PNAC) policy of the neo-conservative chickenhawks (Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, etc.) who simply hate the UN. Bush's decision to go to the UN for international help clearly deviates from the neo-con plan of creating a global American empire via the use of perpetual war, 'shock & awe' tactics, and shameless deceptions.

Since before the Iraq war, my position has been that the whole situation will peak in some way during the 'stargate window' around September (see for example the February 18 and March 29 entries). And now it does appear that we are indeed facing a threshold, a turning point, at the present time. Now it is clear to everyone, as evidenced by the Bush speech, that the US is failing miserably in Iraq, the neo-cons have been wrong on almost everything, and they have deceived all of us (additionally the terrible economy is not improving).

But of course the biggest pressure felt by Bush's guru Rove must be coming from the polls. According to the latest Zogby poll, 'President George W. Bush's job performance ratings have reached the lowest point since his pre-Inauguration days... A majority (52%) said it's time for someone new in the White House, while just two in five (40%) said the president deserves to be re-elected'.

Other telling developments include: the resignation (Sept. 6) of the Palestinian Prime Minister, Mahmoud Abbas, whom the US preferred over Arafat for the 'roadmap to peace'; Israel declaring 'all-out war' on Hamas (Sept. 1); and the former British environment minister Michael Meacher becoming the first mainstream politician to endorse (in his Sept. 6 Guardian article) the view that the 'war on terrorism' is actually a PNAC/neocon-driven attempt by the Bush administration to dominate the world (Pax Americana).

Meacher even suggested that 9-11 was allowed to take place in order for the arrogant neo-con plan to move forward - just as Pearl Harbor was allowed to happen so that the US could enter World War 2. And this again brings up the question: Are we about to have another '9-11', now that the big shockwave that the neo-cons exploited to realize their Pax Americana dream is pretty much gone?

Using the phrase 'another 9-11' inevitably brings to mind big explosions and Islamic terrorists, but this imagery may be misleading. If the 'allowed to happen' scenario is valid, the essence of 9-11 that may be 'echoed' during this 'stargate/echo window' would be a conspiracy by the neo-cons, or the 'Synarchist'/fascist banker types behind them, to scare the US (and others) into submission again. And this can be achieved in many different ways.

Whatever the case, the echo effect would probably be something we could use to further discern the true nature of 9-11 and surrounding events. And as always, it is prudent to expect the unexpected.

In a way, though, the echo has already been detected in the Blackout of August and the Total Recall election underway in California (see previous updates). There is so much to discuss regarding these events, but I'm holding back right now as I am preparing to present new findings in future updates and/or Endgame VI.

Another thing I want to mention is that the critical decisions Bush is making right now (including the recent speech) may be comparable to Neo, in the second Matrix movie (2003), being forced to choose between two doors in the room of the matrix creator:

Architect [talking to Neo]: "Which brings us at last to the moment of truth wherein the fundamental flaw is ultimately expressed and the anomaly revealed as both beginning and end. There are 2 doors. The door to your right leads to the source and the salvation of Zion. The door to your left leads back to the matrix to her [Trinity] and to the end of your species, as you adequately put...the problem is choice..."

In this scene is shown flashes of images of antichritic figures (Hitler etc.) including - amazingly enough - George W. Bush himself. And this scene even comes right after Trinity causing a big city blackout (discussed in previous entries).

'Zion' mentioned above, representing 'freedom', can also be easily interpreted as 'Babylon' which relates to the US/NYC, UK/London, Israel/Jerusalem, etc. So the transposed implication would be that the decision Bush/US is making today decides the fate of 'Babylon' - i.e. annihilation or salvation. In the film, Neo chooses the left door and goes back into the Matrix. This choice entails the end of the human race, and as soon as Neo leaves the room, the building explodes...

Not a pretty picture. :)

My interpretation is that the right door leading to the 'source' would represent the true spirit of the United States/freedom embodied by the US Constitution, and the left door leading to the Matrix would signify the world of corporate America, energy companies (recall that matrix = 'grid'), and such personified in the Bush administration by Dick Cheney and the neocon minions.

Note that Neo/Bush choosing the left door is in agreement with my personal stance that the US is currently in the process of 'ending'. The question for me now is how it will end. I guess this depends largely on the decisions being made now. I suppose by the time of the release of The Matrix: Revolutions (Nov. 5, '03), the last installment of the series, the path will have been determined, and we should be able to find within the film hints of what's coming. Of course, from the title, 'Revolutions', we can already sense the gist of it...

In fact, I was already sensing this development as early as December 2000 - many months before 9-11. As I wrote in the 'Two Suns of Election MM' article (Dec. 4, '00):

In general, revolutionary changes seem to be coming in 2001 onward. [...]

...it may be inferred that those presidents (or candidates, Bush and Gore) will in some way mark the end of presidency or the United States as it exists today.

Back then this was a pretty crazy thing to say. But not now. It is already happening.

Let's just hope that the psychotic neo-con cult, fighting for its political survival, won't go berserk and do insane things. And they just might, given how crazy they are. This is a dangerous time right now.

Further worsening the situation is the recent killing of a leading Shia Muslim leader, Ayatollah Mohammad Baqir al-Hakim, in Iraq (Najaf), along with nearly 100 more people. This was perhaps the last signal that Iraq is beginning its rapid descent into complete chaos. Sam Hamod, the former Director of the Islamic Center of Washington DC, advisor to the U.S. State Department, and editor of Third World News in DC, writes:

Now Iraq will explode and Paul Bremer will be lucky if he escapes with his life, as will some of our top brass in Iraq. The killing of Ayatollah Hakim was a major catastrophe for the Iraqi people, but it will be an even larger one for the West, especially the US and UK, along with Israel. [...] I predict all hell will break loose in Iraq, and possibly in other parts of the Muslim and non-Muslim worlds wherever US/UK and Israeli interests are represented.

It's also interesting to note that the timing of this event may be relevant to the 'Sept. 1'/Labor Day matter discussed in the Aug. 29 entry. The bombing took place on Friday and the big funeral ceremony for al-Hakim was held on Tuesday/Sept. 2, thus nicely bracketing the Labor Day weekend during which hundreds of thousands of mourning Iraqi Shiite Muslims marched to Najaf. (Labor Day also saw Israel declaring 'all-out war' against Hamas.)

And there are two new developments that have - together with various other misconducts - the potential to bring down the Bush administration. One involves Ambassador Joseph Wilson, who is largely responsible for creating the scandal of the 'sixteen words' uttered by Bush in the State of Union speech (regarding Iraq obtaining nuclear material from Africa). This was the first time that the White House was in panic mode. And they were pissed that someone had the audacity to expose the administration's lies. So what do they do? They whispered to journalist Robert Novak that Wilson' s wife was a CIA agent (implying that this was somehow what motivated Wilson to attack the White House).

It was an intimidation tactic. Only this time they went too far. This time what they did was illegal and treason. As John Dean writes:

On July 17, Time magazine published the same story, attributing it to "government officials." And on July 22, Newsday's Washington Bureau confirmed "that Valerie Plame ... works at the agency [CIA] on weapons of mass destruction issues in an undercover capacity." More specifically, according to a "senior intelligence official," Newsday reported, she worked in the "Directorate of Operations [as an] undercover officer."

In other words, Wilson is/was a spy involved in the clandestine collection of foreign intelligence, covert operations and espionage... Now she has herself been placed at great - and needless - risk. [...] No doubt the CIA, and Mrs. Wilson, have many years, and much effort, invested in her career and skills. Her future, if not her safety, are now in jeopardy.

After reading Novak's column, The Nation's Washington Editor, David Corn, asked, "Did senior Bush officials blow the cover of a US intelligence officer working covertly in a field of vital importance to national security--and break the law--in order to strike at a Bush administration critic and intimidate others?"

The answer is plainly yes. Now the question is, will they get away with it?

Fortunately, Joseph Wilson could not be intimidated. He is going after the White House and recently revealed that the treasonous official who leaked the sensitive information was none other than Bush's top political adviser Karl Rove, the Nazi-like propaganda specialist who has been described as Bush's brain. Increasingly, this is being viewed as a very serious matter (the mainstream US news networks have not touched the story yet):

This is the hottest and most explosive story behind the scenes in Washington in terms of how it could affect the Bush administration. [...]

This is very explosive and what makes it so explosive is that this Intelligence Identity Act, if it can be proved, and Rove can be successfully prosecuted and if Rove reveals that the president George Bush told him to institute this leak, then the President's automatic shield of immunity is removed and the president himself can be prosecuted for murder if any deaths of any US intelligence agents or assets resulted from the leak. This is the only legal statute that has this provision. [...]

The way the Bush Regime is trying to quash it is to slow it way down by exerting so much pressure against Pro-Bush Media... If there is no public attention, there will be no steam behind it. Some of the congressmen are trying to push this into higher quarters. They�re trying to get Howard Dean to talk about it since he�s getting so much press coverage... [This] story, which should be more widely known, ...is certainly one of the most egregious abuses of power yet perpetrated by the Bush administration.

Honestly, it would be so great to see this parasite Rove (and the rest of the fascist gang) taken out of the White House in handcuffs.

As for the second developing problem for the Bush administration, it's the shocking lie told to New Yorkers right after the events of 9-11. Just last month it was revealed that:

In the aftermath of the Sept. 11, 2001, attack on the World Trade Center, the White House instructed the Environmental Protection Agency to give the public misleading information, telling New Yorkers it was safe to breathe when reliable information on air quality was not available. [...]

Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-Manhattan) called for a Justice Department investigation. "That the White House instructed EPA officials to downplay the health impact of the World Trade Center contaminants due to 'competing considerations' at the expense of the health and lives of New York City residents is an abomination," he said in a press release.

Only today I saw NBC Nightly New do a piece on this. And I can't help but think that this story, which demonstrates that as far as the Bush regime is concerned these New Yorkers can drop dead, is where many people will finally go 'okay, that's it, this administration has to go':

George W. Bush has officially told the people of New York City that as far as he's concerned, they can drop dead. And thanks to his lies, many of them will. With his latest attack on the Clean Air Act he's said the same to millions more... Because of Bush's lies, thousands of Americans will suffer cancers, emphysema, heart attack, stroke, birth defects, stillbirths, sterility, eye/ear/nose/throat disease and much more.

Let's see how long Bush can sustain his smirk. Incidentally, the British counterpart, Blair, is already in deep trouble. Seemingly the situation over there is worsening daily. Just today we read: 

The government was dealt a devastating blow today when two intelligence officers revealed there were deep concerns about the strength of the language used in the Iraq intelligence dossier, with one complaining the document was shaped for political purposes. [...] It could prove a turning point in the inquiry and may provide the BBC with some critical evidence to support its argument that... the government had "sexed up" the Iraq intelligence dossier.

It's worth noting that the London blackout (Aug. 28) came exactly two weeks after the one in the US (Aug. 14). Adding another two weeks directly brings us to 9-11. Hmm...

Another important US-Britain parallel occurring is Tony Blair's worsening 'Iraqgate' political crisis that is beginning to resemble Watergate. In the US, the mounting 'misconducts' of the neocon/Rove-driven Bush administration - involving Iraq and 9/11 - have also been compared to the Watergate mess (commentators usually note that the current administration is much worse than Nixon's). And it may well be that what is happening to Blair is a 'preview' of what the Bush regime will soon face. Thanks largely to the utterly incompetent and controlled mainstream US news media, things are just moving more slowly in the US compared to Great Britain.

Surely, if Blair does fall, people will wonder why Bush is still standing tall. (The neo-con people, and Rove, are undoubtedly aware of the brewing trouble; so they must be planning something to counteract it... Hopefully those closet fascists won't deceive themselves - like they often do - into thinking that another '9/11'/'Pearl Harbor' would be a good thing for America.)
